What are your hobbies/interests/talents outside of CrossFit?
Spending time with family.  We do a lot of fun kid-centered activities. I also love to hike and dance.  I enjoy my girl’s nights out with my friends.  In the summer, we love to spend most of our time at the beach.

Share with us one thing that most people do NOT know about you?
My two, soon to be three children are all named after presidents-Reagan, Kennedy and Mckinley.

How long have you been with us at CFR?
Late fall 2012

Take us back to your first week here. How did you feel? Remember the workout?
I remember being a little intimidated at first, but everyone in the classes as well as the coaches were very friendly and welcoming. I think the first workout I ever did involved cleans, which I found very challenging.  I was addicted almost immediately.

What moment/achievement are you most proud of at CFR?
My first strict ring muscle up, I worked on that every time I came to the gym for a few months.  If I can maintain my strict pull ups throughout this pregnancy, I will also be really proud of that-going well so far!

Design your perfect workout?
Running box jumps and pull ups

What is your least favorite movement?
Overhead squats.  I find them excruciating at any weight.

Summarize your lifestyle in 5 words or less.
Busy, Family, Fun.

Have you experienced any changes in your lifestyle now that you have been a CrossFit athlete?
I love coming to the gym and schedule my workouts in each week to make sure I get them in.  When possible, I also try to schedule my workouts when I know my friends are going to be there.  We have a lot of fun, support and challenge one another.  Another change since starting CrossFit is focusing on workout goals like getting a strict muscle up, increasing how much I can lift or taking time off a benchmark WOD. It feels so rewarding to set and achieve these goals.  I also made changes to my nutrition and saw a really positive impact in and out of the gym.

What advice do you have for anyone who is thinking about joining or who has recently joined?
Anyone can do CrossFit.  It can be modified for any ability level and you will see tremendous growth in yourself.  Just keep showing up and you will get better every day.
