What are your hobbies/interest/talents outside of CrossFit?

I just read Steve’s member of the month post – I don’t do anything nearly as interesting as backpacking the country but I like spending time with friends, love IPAs, coffee is good, I play a decent amount of golf when I have the time, and I’m always listening to music.

Share with us one thing that most people do NOT know about you?

I listen to pop-punk bands 9/10 times when working out. None of you know because I never win trivia.

How long have you been with us at Viking Athletics?

Little over a month ago (late Oct.) and it is one of the better decisions I’ve made.

Take us back to your first week here. How did you feel? Remember the workout?

Was anxious to get started – I checked out the gym and was ready to get started then left for two weeks for a road trip. Got back and threw myself right in to the fire; Day 1: Nancy

What moment/achievement are you most proud of at Viking Athletics?

Learning the handstand pushup (never had even considered doing anything like that before working out with you guys) and I did 1 ring muscle up the other day. Only 1 but it was good.

Design your perfect workout?

4 Rounds for time:
200 M Run
7 Deadlifts @ 225
12 KB Swings
10 Banded Pushups

What is your least favorite movement?

 Mountain Climbers

Summarize your lifestyle in 5 words or less.

Seek challenges and invite change.

Have you experienced any changes in your lifestyle now that you have been a CrossFit athlete?

I’ve started to add more and prioritize stretching/yoga/foam rolling/etc. in my routine at home. You see the results in the gym but it also helps you to relax, clear the head, breathe, and feel better throughout the day.

What advice do you have for anyone who is thinking about joining or who has recently joined?

Join! I’ve found that CrossFit is a “check your ego at the door” type of place. It is awesome being around people who want to get better in the gym, but also in other areas of their life. I’ve never quite experienced fitness like this and I don’t see myself turning back anytime soon. So, thank you for that, everyone.
